This volunteer management website is used to help agencies recruit volunteers by giving them a platform to post volunteer opportunities as well as to help match potential volunteers to opportunities they are interested in. Our website is free to use for both organizations and volunteers.

Team registration for Day of Caring is now open!

We're so glad you're interested in volunteering for Day of Caring!  If you are part of a team, please contact your Team Leader to see if your team is signed up yet. Keep reading for step-by-step instructions to get started. 

TEAM LEADERS

Select Your Need (project)  COMING SOON

United Way staff will open up registration for all teams to select their own projects in August 2023! Search through the Day of Caring needs at a first come, first served basis. Don't delay! When project selection opens, we expect it to go fast! Our top sponsors will receive first access, with all other teams being granted access afterwards.

  1. Use the Filter options to sort. We recommend filtering at a minimum by County & Available Slots.
  2. Click the Blue Button Respond as Team and fill out the prompts.
  3. Click "Use one of my Teams" to use the team you created for Day of Caring. Review your team members. 
  4. Please note: Agencies count on you to come with a full team! If you later decide you cannot fill all the slots, that's ok. Please reduce your team size accordingly.
  5. From your list, check the box to indicate at least one team leader. Typically, this will be you, but it does not have to be.
  6. When you have added all of your team members, click Continue.
  7. Click Finish.

You can manage your team from the My Teams area, which you can access from your profile dropdown.

 

VOLUNTEER FAQs

What Is the Need Length?

All Needs will have a start and end time. Most projects are 4-8 hours in duration.

Am I Responsible for My Own Transportation?

Yes. All volunteers must provide their own transportation or make arrangements to carpool to the assigned Need location. 

What if it Rains?

Day of Caring is held rain or shine. Keep in mind that weather conditions can easily change and volunteers should arrive prepared for all conditions. A change in weather may require a switch of plans, a move to a new location or different supplies. In cases of severe weather, we strongly encourage you to contact the Need coordinator to discuss alternate plans.

How Do I Register My Team?

Your team leader will sign up on our volunteer portal and add team members. The team leader can add team members, or they can send out a "team join" link, which people can click in order to join the team. Each team member can have their own profile on volunteer portal to track their volunteer hours. This is an added bonus!

How Big Can My Team Be?

In cases where teams have many volunteers, we strongly recommend they register multiple teams since many Needs cannot accommodate more than 15 volunteers at one time. This will ensure sbetter Needs placement and a more satisfactory experience for team members. Multiple teams from one company will most likely be assigned to more than one Need and go to different locations. Once you have selected your Need, remember to plan ahead and speak with the Need coordinator to review details.

Can I Add More Teams or Make Changes to My Registration Later?

Once you have registered, you can return to the site at any time. Just use your login credentials as your team leader and manage your profile and teams accordingly.

My Team Has Cancelled - What Do I Do?

We understand that sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances you might need to cancel. If you have registered a team and they are now unable to participate, call the agency contact where the team was matched immediately and let them know you are unable to fill your commitment. After you have done so, please contact us at jallen@unitedwaynsv.org so that we can assist the agency in finding a new team.

  1. From your profile drop-down (with your initials or profile picture), select MY TEAMS.
  2. You will be taken to a table listing all of the teams you are a part of, whether as a team member or a team leader.
  3. Click Manage Team, located in the Options column, for the team you wish to unregister.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Unregister Team.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the registration
