Who We Are
Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River works to keep the North Fork clean, healthy, and beautiful through advocacy, community action, education, and science. Founded in 1988, FNFSR has grown to include over 500 member households, from the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.
What We Do
FNFSR's programming focuses on advocacy, community action, education, and science. Volunteer programs include riparian buffer planting/maintenance, river cleanups, the North Fork Conservation Corps summer teen program at Seven Bends State Park, and benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring of the North Fork and its tributaries. Our educational programs include in and after school activities, summer camps, lecture series, and workshops. Friends of Seven Bends State Park, a program of FNFSR, serves as the public support organization for Seven Bends State Park in Woodstock, Virginia.
