Who We Are

The Strasburg Community Library provides typical and atypical services and programs that encourage literacy, promote lifelong learning, help to build community, and provide services that the community may need such as fax, copier, and printing services, along with free access to Wi-Fi and computers. We are here to help assist as best we can. We research, answering basic technology questions and welcome new residents. We consider ourselves to be the great equalizer regardless of status or income as everyone is welcome here.

What We Do

In 2024 11,506 patrons visited the library to browse and check out books, CDs, and DVDs. We had 12,827 items checked out and 4,900 renewals. 705 patrons used our free computer lab and WiFi services. 1,332 children, parents, and guardians participated in one or more of our 97 adult, teens, and children's programs throughout the year, including Baby Rhyme Time, Preschool Storytime, Summer Reading (184 children, teens, and adults participated for 8 weeks), art exhibits, adult book clubs, and knitting club. We issued over 280 new library cards. We also maintain a Seed library for the community and provide access to a variety of periodicals including the NVD. We collaborate with the Town during festivals to act as a hub, and offer spaces for the community to use as needed for meetings, telecommuting, school research, genealogy research, job interviews, and much more. We also offer our rear lot for the community to use during off hours for additional parking with easy access to downtown. We are a volunteer-run library. Our volunteers give us over 3,600 hours a year to operate the circulation desk, lead programs, run our Book Sales Room, provide basic maintenance services, and manage the non-profit corporation.
